Ordering

What is the process for ordering invitations with Invites by Jen?

Step 1:  Purchase a sample.

Step 2:  Mail the sample and $50 deposit (non-refundable but will be applied
to final balance due) to:

Once I receive your deposit and your desired shipment date I will create a
customized order timeline that outlines when you can expect things from me
(proof, etc.) and when I will need things from you (wording, color choices, etc).

Step 3:  I will e-mail a digital proof of your invitation first for approval, and
then mail you the actual proof of your invitation (including the Approval
Letter to sign and return).

Step 4:  Mail back your signed Approval form along with the invitation proof.

Step 5:  I will begin production as soon as I receive the proofs back and your
final payment due (I will send a balance due request per the timeline).  
Please note that since my products are personalized, returns are generally
not accepted.

Step 6:  Invitations will be shipped between 4-8 weeks, depending on the size
and complexity of the order.

How many invitations should I order?
* I recommend ordering at least 20 extra invitations. Guest lists often change
at the last minute and its best to be prepared. Ordering extra invitations can
be costly.
* Remember each couple should only receive one invitation ensemble.
* Proper etiquette says a single invitee should be allowed to bring a guest.

When should I place the order for my wedding invitations?
* I recommend ordering 4-6 months prior to your special event. Your order
will take me 6-8 weeks to complete, depending on the size and complexity of
the order.  Also, I am booked up to three months in advance during the busy
wedding season, so the sooner you book your order the better!
* All orders are subject to material availability.  The more time you give me,
the greater the guarantee that your particular material will be in stock.  In
the event expedited shipping is required on materials, rush fees may be
applied to your final payment due.

What types of payment do you accept?
* Payment is accepted via credit card (outside of PayPal) and via PayPal.  
Checks and money orders are accepted, but please be aware that I wait 7-10
business days for them to clear the bank.
















I need my invitations in 4 weeks. Do you offer rush ordering?
* Time permitting, I offer rush ordering and all orders needed within 4 weeks
may be subject to a rush fee.
* All orders are subject to material availability.  The more time you give me,
the greater the guarantee that your particular material will be in stock.  In
the event expedited shipping is required on materials, rush fees may be
applied to your final payment due.

When should I send out the invitations?
* Invitations are commonly sent out 6-8 weeks in advance of your special
event. I recommend that during the summer or holiday months, you give
enough advance notice to your guests to schedule their vacations around
your day.
* It is common practice to send out Save the Date announcements (typically 9-
12 months prior to the event) if your wedding will be during busy months.














Samples

Should I order a sample?
* I recommend ordering a sample invitation prior to placing your order.  You
can view samples on my website at:  www.invitesbyjen.com
* I offer many various personalizing services;  if you do not see exactly what
you are looking for online, I can work with you to create your perfect wedding
invitation.

Will I be credited for the cost of my sample?
* Yes, your account will be instantly credited for the cost of all samples
purchased if you order your wedding invitations through Invites by Jen.

How long does it take to receive a sample?
* I usually send samples out 3-5 business days after I receive your request
and payment.

Envelopes

Are outer envelopes included in the price?
* Yes!  Your sample will arrive with my standard white linen envelope.  
However, many different options, in many different styles and colors are
available at no additional cost.
* Your choice of envelope (if something other than the white linen envelope is
desired) can be decided upon after an invitation proof has been completed.
* Although envelopes are included in the total cost of invitations, your
account will not be credited if you decide not to use any of the envelope
options available.

Are response envelopes included in the price?
* Yes!  Your sample will arrive with my standard white linen envelope.  
However many different options in many different styles and colors are
available at no additional cost.
* Your choice of envelope (if something other than the white linen envelope is
desired) can be decided upon after an invitation proof has been completed.
* Although envelopes are included in the total cost of invitations, your
account will not be credited if you decide not to use any of the envelope

Can I use my own envelopes?
* Yes, but I recommend that you order them prior to ordering invitations to
ensure that your invitations will fit inside the envelopes.
* Although envelopes are included in the total cost of invitations, your
account will not be credited if you decide not to use any of the envelope
options available.

Do you offer address printing on the envelopes?
* Yes!  Customized return address printing on both the invitation and
response card envelopes are included as a free service when ordering your
invitation sets.
* Invitee addressing (guest addressing) is available for $0.

Invitations

Will my invitations arrive fully assembled?
* Yes!  Your invitations will arrive ready to mail.
*  Do-it-yourself options are available for those who wish to assemble the
invitations (adhere pieces together, tie ribbons, etc) themselves.  With this
option, all pieces will come printed and cut to size ready for your assembly.

I love your invitations but I don’t see exactly what I want.  Can you
create a design for me?
* Of course! I offer a service to my customers creating a one-of-a-kind
invitation for your special event.
* The final cost of your customized invitation set will depend on materials and
difficulty of your vision.
* If you give me a general theme and idea, I will work to create a special and
unique invitation for you.
* Please note that I do require the initial $50 deposit before creating a
customized proof.

How much postage will my invitation require?
* It is always recommended that you take an invitation to the post office to
have them weighed and sized for postage, but generally an invitation postage
stamp will do.
* Square shaped invitations always require extra postage.
* Invites by Jen does recommend all handmade wedding invitations be hand
cancelled.  Contact your local post office for additional details.

Shipping

How do you ship the invitations?
* I carefully package the invitations to ensure their safe arrival using Priority
Mail.
* You are responsible for the cost of shipping. Please be aware that shipping
can cost anywhere from $20-$50.
* Expedited shipping is available and will add to the total cost of shipping.

Additional Items/Extras

What coordinating items do you create to compliment the wedding
invitations?
* I offer handmade direction and informational inserts, thank you cards,
menus, table cards, seating charts, place cards, programs, gift cards, wedding
albums, frames, and a variety of table gifts.
